Clara Humphrey has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since November 2007. She was born August 1922. She grew up in Butler County. She was one out of eleven children. Her parents were farmers. Clara has two sons and one daughter. She was a housekeeper. She enjoys watching TV and the music programs.

Ruth Kanell has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since August of 2009. She was born April 1926. Her mother was a cook at a café and on the riverboat. Her father passed away when she was young. She has six brothers and sisters. She went to college and became a Director of Nursing at a nursing home. She lived in Poplar Bluff and she had five children. She likes crossword puzzles and music programs.

Sheryl Pridy has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since January of 2005. She was born March of 1949 and raised in Poplar Bluff. Sheryl attended the State School. She likes to watch and listen to the comedy programs, especially The Three Stooges. Her sister visits her often.Latasha Legrand has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since January of 2009. She works as a LPN. She is married to Jesse and they have two children, Kalea five years old and Kye one year old. They live in Poplar Bluff. She says that she enjoys her job. Her hobbies are spending time with her family, going to the park with her children, scrapbooking, reading, swimming and camping.

Robin Mosher has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since October 2008. She works in the laundry department. Robin has been married for 32 years; she has three children and two grandchildren. She says that she has a million dogs and she loves them all. In her spare time she enjoys doing crafts.

Brenda Long has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since July 2008. She works in Housekeeping. Brenda has been married for 34 years and has two children and eight grandchildren. She says that she loves being around her grandchildren. She says that they are her life, her love and her laughter. Her hobbies are going to yard sales, flea markets and spending time with her family and friends.

Phillip Archer has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since June of 2006. He works as an Environmental Aide. Phillip is 40 years old. His hobbies are talking, going to Wal-Mart and spending money. He also loves to collect coins and solving puzzles. He loves working here and spending a lot of time talking with the residents. Phillip volunteers a lot of hours.

Ashley Cochran has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since June of 2008. She works as an evening shift CNA. Ashley enjoys her job working with the residents. She is currently attending school to continue her education in the nursing field. She will one day be a nurse. Her grandparents raised her and she says that her grandmother has had the most impact in her life and she considers her a hero. Ashley’s family and friends are very important to her and she thanks God for them everyday.

Tina Murdock has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May of 2008. She works in Housekeeping. She says that she enjoys visiting with the residents and the people she works with. Tina has two boys Rae 11, Timmy 6 and 3 stepsons. Tina is getting married in August. She loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys camping, fishing, scuba diving, just being out doors.

Connie Kays has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February of 2009. She grew up in Rolla, Mo. Her mother was a geologist, and became a housewife. Her father worked for the railroad for years, then worked at the unemployment office. Connie went to college then she worked at the Regional Center. She has 2 sons. She enjoys bingo, geologist and watching TV, and receiving mail.

Delbert Kuchler has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May 2008. He was born in June 1943. He grew up in St. Louis County. He had 9 brothers and sisters. His parents were laborers. He has been married twice and had 6 children. He lived around the St. Louis area and then moved to Florida for about 11 years. He served in the Army for about 5 ½ years. He enjoys cars, watching TV and visiting with staff and other residents.

Debra Griffin has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since November of 2007. She was born November 1953. She grew up in Harviell, Mo. along with 2 brothers, several uncles and aunts. Debra remained around the Neelyville and Harviell area. She did go to Wisconsin with her husband for a short time. She adopted 2 children. Debra worked as a L.P.N. She enjoys watching TV, painting and crafts.

Hazel Turner has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since June of 2008. Hazel was raised in Poplar Bluff. Her mother did domestic work. Hazel is one of 13 children. She has lived in Colorado Springs and St. Louis, where she learned to weld. She enjoys Bingo, Bible Study, Gardening, Crocheting and Music.

Ralph Bonney has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since October 2009. He grew up in St Louis and had 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He was born September 4, 1923. He joined the military in 1942. Ralph has one daughter and he use to work at the hospital in maintenance. He enjoys cars and motorcycles.

Evelyn Caldwell has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since December of 2003. She was born in Salem, Oregon and was raised with one sister and one brother. Her father did odd jobs and her mother was a homemaker. She was born May 27, 1929. She married Russell at age 17 and they moved to Missouri. She has 2 sons and 2 daughters. Evelyn worked as a homemaker. She enjoys art work and music, television and card games.

Christy Davis has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since December of 2008. She works as a night shift CNA. She is married to Daniel and they have 4 children Charish 8 years old, Tyler 8 years old, Lexy 5 years old and Maddy 3 years old. She says that they enjoy spending time together, playing board games and outside adventures. Christy loves her job and the residents.

Carrie Hall has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since March of 2008. She works as a day shift CNA and sometimes does transportation to Dr. Appointments. She has 3 boys and has been married for 10 years. She is going to college and enjoys spending time with her family. Carrie loves her job and finds it very rewarding.

Deloris Scott has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since January of 2008. She works in Dietary. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Mabel Neal has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since November of 2003. She was born in August 1925. She grew up around Essex and Parma. Mabel was the eldest child out of five. She helped her father and mother take care of the other children. She worked as a machine operator. She married Jessie and they had 2 daughters and 1 son. Mabel likes to listen to music.

Raymond Tanner has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since July 2009. He was born May of 1926. He grew up in Doniphan and moved to Poplar Bluff when he was 14 years old. He is married to Betty. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They have 3 daughters. Raymond likes to do wood carving and has been attending music programs with his wife.

Lawrence Duley has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since October of 2009. He was born April of 1927. He grew up in Risco and moved to Dexter when he was 14 years old, and moved to Michigan. Lawrence was raised with 7 brothers and sisters. He worked as a carpenter. He married Marian and they had 3 sons and one daughter.

Anna Marie Davied has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since June of 2008. She works as a CNA on A- Wing and C-Wing. She is engaged to Keith and she has 2 step-daughters, Casey 12 years old and Katie 9 years old. Anna’s hobbies are cooking and scrapbooking.

Tonya Bishop has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since June of 2008. She has one son Alexander who will be three on December 22nd. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Shannon Vass has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May of 2009. She works as a LPN. She had worked here before. She is married to Chris and they have 6 children. Her hobbies are photography and spending time with her family and friends.

Julia Lashley has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since October 24, 2005. She works in Housekeeping and laundry. She enjoys going outside and playing games with her grandchildren.

Vanessa Burkhart has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center for the past four years as a supervisor and MDS/Care Plan Coordinator. She and her husband Junior have been married for 11 years and have three children Courtney 31, Dustin 27 and Harley 16. She is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with her niece, Lily 4 and vacationing with her husband to a different state each year.

Carol Willcutt has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since November 8, 2005. She works in the Dietary Department, she started working here as an Environmental Aide. She has four children, 3 daughters, one son, 4 granddaughters and one great grandson. In her spare time she enjoys playing bingo, and spending time with her family.

Eva Black has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since January 2008. She was born on April 28, 1922. She grew up around the Poplar Bluff area. She married Ed and they were married for 50 years and had no children. Eva worked as a waitress. She enjoys watching television, visiting with staff, playing bingo and attending church services.

Marian Duley has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since July 2009. She was born January 18, 1927. Marian grew up in Michigan. She is married to Lawrence and they had three sons and one daughter.  She worked as a CNA and in housekeeping. She likes to spend time with her husband and family and likes to attend Bible Study and also music programs.

Robert Jenni has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May 2008. He was born October 20, 1917 and grew up around Crystal City and Festus area. His mother was a homemaker and his father was a farmer. He has two siblings. He was in the military and moved around a lot. He went to trade school to become an electrician. He liked to hunt, fish and garden. He now enjoys music programs, Bible study, games, visiting with other residents and staff and watching television.

Golda Westbrook has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February 2008. She was born on April 26, 1917 and grew up on a farm in Mills Springs with two siblings. She went to college and graduated with a degree in Education. She married and had two daughters. Golda worked as a teacher for Special Education. She enjoys teaching and going to church services and visiting with her daughters and listening to gospel music programs. Congratulations, Golda on being chosen as one of our “Pieces of the Heart”.

Verna Roberts has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since July 2008. She was born May 1915 and grew up in Pine, Mo. with six brothers and three sisters. She got married in 1932 and had seven children. Verna loves children and attending gospel music programs. Congratulations, Verna on being chosen as one of our “Pieces of the Heart”.

Wanda Long has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since April 2007. She was born May 19, 1929. She grew up around Granite City, Illinois. She married and had seven children. She was a homemaker. Wanda enjoys visiting with her family, residents and staff members. She also enjoys attending some gospel music programs.

Gail Grimes has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since September 8, 1994. She works as a LPN on B-Wing. She has been married for 35 years and has three children and six grandchildren. Gail’s hobbies are collecting antique pottery and paintings, she also enjoys spending time with her family and Kacey her chocolate lab. Gail is a very hard worker that cares about her residents and staff. Congratulations Gail on being chosen as one of our “Pieces of the Heart”.

Janet Guffey has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since October 31, 2002. She has been married for 37 years and they have one daughter, Valrie,two grandson’s Austin and Landon. Janet said that she loves her job cooking for the residents and joking around with her fellow employees. “Congratulations, Janet on being chosen as one of our “Pieces of the Heart”.

Tammy Carter has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since September 15, 2003. She works as a Med Tech and a Nursing Assistant. Tammy is married and they have one daughter Ashton. Tammy enjoys spend time with her family and going to church and flea marketing. Congratulations, Tammy on being chosen as one of our “Pieces of the Heart”.

Sally Adams has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since August 1, 2006 as scheduler and ward clerk.  Sally is married to Marquis Adams and they have 5 children Catrina 20 years old, Courtney 18 years old, Boog 16 years old, Marquis 9 years old and Shawn 8 years old and one granddaughter Madison, soon to be a year old on August 30th.  Sally enjoys having everyone at home and cooking big dinners.

Leatrice Ostler has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since October 24th of 2007. She was born May 24th 1920. She was raised in Nebraska. Her father did work for the railroad and then went to work for himself.  Her mother was a homemaker. She was an only child. Leatrice got married in 1937, and had one daughter Judith. They lived in Nebraska until 1949, then moved here. She was a homemaker until the 1970’s then went to work in a grocery store. Leatrice enjoys sewing, embroidery, crafts, helping out and reading her newspaper.

Lesa Luttrell has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since August 30th 2005. She works in the Laundry Department.  Lesa enjoys spending time working in the yard and being with her 2 boys ages 9 and 10.  Lesa is a very hard working and is well liked by the residents and fellow employees.

Holly Runzi has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since August 1st 2008 as a CNA on 3-11 shift. Holly is married to Krag and has one daughter, Abagail who is 4 years old.  Holly enjoys shopping, hunting and spending time with her family and friends.  Holly says she enjoys taking care of the residents and visiting with them and fellow co workers.

Ethel “Janiece” Jordan has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation since May of 2009. She was born on July 29th 1934.She grew up in Arkansas with 3 brothers and sisters. Her parents were miner and farmers. She married Doyle Jordan and they had one son Al. She worked as a Secretary. Ethel enjoys music, she use to play the piano; she likes to watch T.V. and movies.

Imogene Knapp has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February 2002. She was born July 3rd and raised in Hamtown and Rombauer.  Her parents were farmers. She is the youngest out of the eight children.  She married Charles Knapp at the age of 18, and they have two children David and Kevin. They lived most of their lives in Poplar Bluff, but did spend a few years in Colorado.  Imogene used to work as a cashier and enjoyed spending time with family, doing puzzles. She likes to read magazines, watch T.V. and listen to music.

Tom Williams was born July 20, 1915. He grew up in Hoxey, Arkansas and worked for the railroad. Tom has one son Tommy and enjoys wood working and horses.

Howard Green was born August 1, 1923. He was raised in Clay County, Arkansas. Howard had one brother and two sisters and his Father was a farmer. He moved to Ripley County and married Dorothy and they had one son Carl. Howard worked in a sawmill and farmed and enjoys TV.  He visits with family, friends and staff.

Ladonna Ward is the Office Manager, and has worked at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation Center for 22 years. She is married to Glen and has three children Ryan, Whitney and Mariah. She also has 2 grandchildren Jaiden and Ethan with the third one due in September.  Ladonna enjoys spending time with her family, reading and watching Mariah play volleyball and softball.

Stacy Wade is a LPN on A-Wing and has worked at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation since July 2007. He is married to Heather and they have 3 children Caleb, Kieran and Kaiden. In his spare time he likes to play the drums, listen to music and spend time with his family.

David Briscoe works in the Maintance Department and has worked at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation since August 2005. David is married to Tina and they have 2 children Caleb and Kaylie. David enjoys spending time with his family and during the summer they to swimming and boating on Current River.

Jeffery Ackner has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation Center since July 2005. He grew up in Michigan and has a college degree in accounting. He has 1 son Andrew, who he is very proud of. Jeff moved to Poplar Bluff in February of 2005. In his spare it he likes to visit with his friends, watch sports, playing games on the computer and people watching.

Dorothy Green has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation Center since April 2008. She was born on August 28, 1927. She grew up in Ripley County. Her parents were farmers and she was raised with 2 sisters. She has been married to Howard for 65 years.
They lived in Ripley County and raised 1 son, Carl. She worked as a homemaker until 1965 and then worked in a factory. Dorothy likes to watch t.v. attend gospel music programs and attend Bible Study.

Darlene Armstead has been a resident here at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation since 2008. She was born July 9, 1927.
She grew up in Bernie Mo. Her parents were farmers and she has 6 brothers and sisters. Darlene was married twice and they moved around a lot, she  moved back to Malden, Mo. in 1993. She worked as a homemaker. Darlene likes to do interior decorating, attend music programs, Bible Study, play bingo and Jingo.

Michelle Reynolds has worked at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation Center since June of 2002. She has four children Felisha 17, Alisha 15, Richie 14 and Hayden 9. She encourages her children to stay active in school, clubs and sports. Michelle is loved by families and residents.

Nicole Jackson has worked at Westwood Hills Health Rehabilitation Center since June of 2006. She and her husband Billy have been married 16 years the end of this month. They have three children Bethany, Cody, and Steven. Nicole likes to read, spend time with her family and working on her house.

Darla McCollough is a Social Worker and has worked at Westwood Health Rehabilitation since June of 2001. She has two daughters Hope 6 and Faith 3. She enjoys spending time with her daughters and husband Chris. She is very involved at church, she is a Preschool Sunday School Teacher.

Cathy Fiehtner has worked at Westwood Hills & Rehabilitation Center since April 24TH, 2007. She works as an Environmental Aide, she passes out ice water to the residents, and she likes to help out wherever she is needed.  She loves all the residents and they are very special to her.   She enjoys being around them and listening to their stories.  She is married with 4 children and 10 Grandchildren.  She loves animals and enjoys taking care of unwanted animals.

Patty Shain has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May 2nd of 1992.  She is the facility Director of Nursing.  Patty is married to Spencer Shain and has 3 children, Kim, Joe and Katelyn.  She is also a proud new grandmother to her brand new grandchild, Presley Ann Smith.   Patty enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, decorating and especially taking care of Presley Ann.

Tracey Joyner has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since May 20th, 2008.  She is a very hard worker and truly cares about the residents.  Tracey has 3 children Kariasa, Samantha, and Heather and one grandson Daevon.  She enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Eathel Scott has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since July of 2007.  She was born in Kansas on September 5th, of 1916.  Eathel was raised along with 9 brothers and sisters, and as a child her family moved frequently. As an adult she has moved around the Poplar Bluff area.  Eathel has been married twice, and has three sons.  Eathel has worked as a CNA in her past.

Juanita Ward has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since January of 2004.  She is married to Fred Ward and they have a daughter, Rebecca.  Jaunita was born in Everton, Missouri in the month of January.  She was raised on a farm along with 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  Juanita has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and used to teach CNA classes while working as a nurse.  She likes to watch TV, listen to music, and she looks forward to receiving mail from her family.

Prince Thompson has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since August of 2002.  He was born in St. Louis and was raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Prince has 2 brothers and 4 sisters.  He loves to go fishing, watch TV, and listen to music.

Shelia Amburgey has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since April of 2001.  She was born October 16th, 1947.  She loves crocheting, listening to music, and watching television.  She also enjoys helping others.

Toni Ferguson has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since August of 2002.  She was born in New Madrid, and her family moved to Poplar Bluff in 1932.  Toni Married James Ferguson and they had 6 children together.  She worked at the garment factory.  Toni has several grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well.  She likes crafts, going to bible study, attending parties, listening to music, and she also collects frogs.

Gertrude Sullivan has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since October of 1999.  She was born on February 3rd, 1918 in Granite City, Illinios.  She lived there until her husband retired, then moved to the Naylor Area.  Gertrude was a homemaker.  She enjoys music programs and bible study.

Crystal Richardson has been employed at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since April of 1994.  She started working here as a Nurses Aide, and then became certified in July of 1994.  She now works as an Activity Technician, and also does our resident transporting to and from doctors appointments.  She was born in Peoria, Illinios, and moved to Quilin, Missouri in 1983.  In her spare time she likes to paint, read, and watch movies.

Donna Ethridge has been employed at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since April of 1994.  She started working here as a nurses aide, and soon after became certified.  She is now working as a Certified Medicine Technician (C.M.T.).  She has 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren.   She enjoys spending time with her family in her spare time.

Dee Beckham has been employed at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since April of 1986.  She started working here in the laundry department, and also helped with housekeeping.  Dee is currently the Laundry & Housekeeping Supervisor, and has been in this position for 4 years.  She is married to Gary Beckham and they have 5 children Kelly, Robert, Anita, Josh, and Jesse.  They also have 3 grandchildren Daniel, Logan, and Zoe.  Dee loves her job & always says Westwood Hills is her second home.

Cleattus Hefner has lived at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since March of 2008. Cleattus was raised at Qulin with 7 other siblings. His Father was a farmer and his mother was homemaker. He married Theresia Hefner and they moved to St. Louis. There he worked at a factory for a little while and then they moved back to Qulin. Cleattus and Theresia raised four children together. Cleattus used to enjoy hunting, fishing and checking out the flea markets. He likes to play Bingo and look after his wife.

Mildred Pigg has lived at Westwood Hills Health & rehabilitation Center since September of 2002. She was raised in Campbell, Missouri. Mildred married a preacher, Leonard Pigg, in 1928. They raised 3 children and lived at Harviell, Missouri. Their family farmed and Mildred was a homemaker. Mildred enjoys music, church services, and gospel music singings.

Janet Hale has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February of 2000. She really enjoys working here with the staff, and she loves all the residents. Janet has lived in Poplar Bluff for 31 years. She enjoys spending time with her dog, Ginger, and her cat, Squirt. She also enjoys spending time with her family who is very special to her. She has many hobbies and enjoys collecting unique things such as dolls, and vintage pictures of old movie stars.

Kay Miller has worked at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February of 1989. She started here as a C.N.A., and now works as an Environmental Aide. In her spare time, Kay loves to visit with her family, watch soap operas, and go shopping. Kay is a very dependable employee, and always goes the extra mile for the residents of Westwood Hills.

Daniel Davis has been employed at Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center since February of 2005. He has four children, 3 girls and 1 boy, and loves spending time with them. Daniel enjoys nature walks, watching television, and playing his Play Stations 3. He is very dedicated to his job, and loves all of his residents.

The residents of Westwood Hills Honored Donna Hastings, Activity Director, and Crystal Richardson, Activity Technician, with a party for Activity Professional Week which is January 18^th through January 23^rd.

The party started with applause all around and then cake was served. Each resident explained in their own words how they appreciated the Activity staff and all they do for the facility.

Donna and Crystal were each awarded with a certificate of appreciation.

 

Singing Seniors

The Singing Seniors visit Westwood Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center once a month and sing for all the residents.  They sing upbeat gospel music and play a variety of different instruments along with their songs.  The residents love to listen to them sing and look forward to their every visit.
